We use donations to support the charitable purposes set out in our statutes. This includes our activities and the organisational and administrative costs needed to deliver them. Unless a specific purpose has been agreed, donations support our work where they are needed.

Donation receipts and tax information
Democracy Forum e.V. is a German charitable association. On request, we issue an official donation receipt (Zuwendungsbestätigung) in accordance with the applicable German tax rules.
For individual donations of up to and including €300, a bank statement or equivalent proof of payment, together with our supplementary charity document, generally provides sufficient evidence for German tax purposes. The supplementary document contains information about our tax exemption, the charitable purpose and the classification of the payment as a donation.
For an individual donation exceeding €300, an official donation receipt is generally required as evidence when claiming a German tax deduction. We can also issue a receipt for smaller donations on request.
If you are subject to tax outside Germany, eligibility for tax relief depends on the rules and requirements of the relevant country. A German donation receipt does not automatically guarantee tax relief elsewhere.
